Teacher Training Experience in the United States
- Numerous workshops and plenary sessions for teachers in public schools, adult education,
literacy, refugee education, English as a Second Language, and English as a Foreign Language

- Trained teachers in three Tucson school districts in effective ways to teach diverse classes,
2001-2003. These workshops helped Tucson-area schools come into compliance with a recent Arizona law that placed students with limited English proficiency in regular classes. One large district adopted a "train the trainers" model; I worked with primary and secondary facilitators, conducting monthly half-day workshops for each group. They then conducted these workshops for their colleagues at 104 different schools. For a small district I conducted full-day workshops for all the district's teachers. For a third district I visited each school, doing between one and ten 2-3 hour workshops at each site.
- Master Teacher: Mentored individual MA students in CESL classes, 1979 to 2001
- UA Teaching Fellow, 1989-91 Selected as one of four faculty members at the University of
Arizona to observe teachers in departments throughout the university and provide support
through feedback in one-on-one sessions
